Aclaira®-C units clarify surface water
Aclaira®-C units are especially designed to serve small community drinking water needs in regions where available water quality does not comply with current World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations.
Aclaira®-C units make all surface water potable
Aclaira®-C units remove suspended solids and microbes from surface water (rivers, lakes, ponds, shallow wells). The units can treat very turbid water (up to 200 NTU and beyond) so it becomes perfectly clear, with turbidity well below 1 NTU- the maximum recommended by the WHO. The unit capacity varies from 1,000 litres per hour of clean drinking water with an Aclaira® C0 unit up to 40,000 litres per hour and beyond with an Aclaira® C20 unit.
The advantages of Aclaira®-C units are:
- Stable, simple and manual operation
- Robust units, especially designed for operation in remote areas
- Fouling resistant membrane
- Little and easy maintenance
- No pre-treatment required
- Can be operated with solar panels
As an option, Aclaira® units are equipped with a solar cell system and batteries enabling an autonomous and transient operation at times with no (solar) power or in case of emergency.
The Membrane
The heart of the unit is the ultrafiltration membrane module. It offers virtually absolute rejection efficiency against bacteria and viruses.
Rejection efficiency
- Bacteria: 6 log (Note 1)
Note 1: Based on the international measuring scale, the “6 log on bacteria” means that, out of one million bacteria (1,000,000, six zeros) contained in raw water, at most one will pass across the membrane.
